Because Jesus performed miracles and forgave sins did this equate Him to be God Almighty?
Trinitarian's will most likely point to (Mark.2)
In this chapter Jesus said to a paralytic man that his sins are forgiven. Therefore the Trinitarian will make the claim that Jesus is God because only God can forgive sin.
" When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic: “Child, your sins are forgiven.”
(Mark.2:5)
(Mark.2:5)
The scribes replied: " Why is this man talking this way? He is blaspheming. Who can forgive sins except one, God?”
(Mark.2:7)
(Mark.2:7)
2. 9 Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? 10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God."
(Mark.2:9-12)
So scripture is exactly the opposite of what Trinitarian's claim.
Jesus Himself said it. " the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.”
(Mark.2:9-12)
If the scribes understood only God can forgive sins and here we have Jesus forgiving sins then it may appear to some why they believe Jesus being the God-Man. However, Trinitarians miss what Jesus said.
So scripture is exactly the opposite of what Trinitarian's claim.
Jesus Himself said it. " the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.”
Jesus forgave sins not because he was the God-Man; but because what vs 10 reads, "the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.”
Simple Scripture's Refuting Jesus being the supposed
God-Man!
1. (Acts.2:22)
“Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. ”
“Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. ”
2. (Acts.10:38)
“ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. ”
“ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. ”
3. (Luke.5:17)
“ One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the LORD was with Jesus to heal the sick. ”
“ One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the LORD was with Jesus to heal the sick. ”
4. (John.3:2)
“ For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”
“ For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”
5. (John.10:32)
Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”
Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”
Does the fact that Jesus forgave sin's and performed miracles make Jesus God? Or the God-Man as Christendom have so often proclaimed? I think not after these lovely straight-forward & simple witnesses found in scripture.
